15 years ago two of my sisters were told by their doctors that they had Multiple Sclerosis. MS is an insidious disease that attacks the nervous system and steals a person’s strength and ability to move. It is also difficult to diagnose. Both sisters had been struggling with symptoms for a number of years and we all were convinced it was MS but the official diagnosis made it suddenly much more real. MS has no cure and there was nothing that I or my family could do. We were helpless to provide any kind of meaningful support for either of them beyond simple encouragement.
Both of my sisters are younger than I am. One suffers from Relapsing Remitting MS that has an attack/remission cycle which is as unpredictable as it is unforgiving. She also endures the pain of Trigeminal Neuralgia, a nervous disorder that causes sudden intense pain on both sides of her face. My other sister suffers from Primary Progressive MS which never goes into remission, it just gets worse and worse over time.
In 2016 I participated in the Sacramento MS Walk to raise money for the MS Society. When telling my sister’s stories and asking for donations, time and time again people would share with me their own stories of family and friends suffering with MS. I was amazed at how pervasive MS is and how many people struggle with it’s devastating effects.
PressPlay Cares introduces Campaigns for a Cause… After the MS Walk I felt that I needed to do more. My team, PressPlay Realty Network’s PressPlay Cares, had just introduced Campaigns for a Cause and they encouraged me to use Campaigns for a Cause to focus my fund-raising efforts. They suggested that I find an organization that is working hard to find a cure for MS and assist MS sufferers, and contribute.
How we contribute… Every transaction we complete, generated from this Campaign for a Cause, will result in 7% of our fee being donated to the Cause. When we collect $10,000 PressPlay will donate $700 to the Cause and in the name of our client.
The Cause…We have chosen to support the efforts of the Mellen Center at Cleveland Clinic and the research performed there in search of a cure and to provide a support network for MS patients and their families.
Why the Mellen Center? The Mellen Center is working tirelessly to find a cure for MS.
The Mellen Center focuses on addressing physical, emotional, cognitive and rehabilitation needs of the MS patient and their family members through a team approach. The physicians are national leaders in basic and clinical research related to MS pathogenesis and medical management and have made major contributions in the development of drugs to control MS disease activity and progression.
The Mellen Center is the largest comprehensive program for MS care and research worldwide, managing more than 8,000 patients and more than 21,000 total visits every year. Basic and clinical research conducted at Cleveland Clinic sheds new light on MS every year, moving us ever closer to better treatments and hopefully, one day soon, a cure.

Help me support the Mellen Center
Thousands of people will buy or sell a house this year and the money raised through referrals from this Campaign for a Cause will make an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of millions of people suffering with or effected by Multiple Sclerosis. This disease must be cured and immediate support offered to those suffering the effects of the disease. You can make a difference by simply sharing this information and encouraging people you know who are thinking about buying or selling to call me and have PressPlay Realty Network sell their house or find their next house.
